Christopher Woodruff is the President of The Cotton Companies. With over 15 years of experience in professional real estate and real estate development, Chris uses his experience, network and talents to assemble and lead the perfect team. Through collaborations, his teams goal is to create vibrant, healthy, sustainable and dynamic commercial developments within communities. Christopher’s passion is the project AND the client. His goal is to help his clients realize the benefit of prudent and thoughtful development practices. The Cotton Companies pride themselves in creating successful projects, and leveraging them to embrace a compelling and unique story that separates a Cotton Company Project from the competition.
In 2013, he was named Georgia Trend Magazine’s “40 Under Forty” – a recognition of the state’s best and brightest in business, government, nonprofits, education, politics, media, healthcare and the arts. During this same year, Chris was recognized with the Mayoral Columbus Service Award. Three years prior, he was named one of Columbus’ “Top 5 Under 40”– an honor awarded by Columbus & The Valley Magazine each year to outstanding business leaders in the area under the age of forty.
His present community involvement includes service on the Board of Directors Boys & Girls Club of the Chattahoochee Valley and Uptown Columbus, Inc. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for Columbus State University Foundation, Historic Columbus Foundation, Inc. and is Chairman of The J.W. & Ethel Woodruff Foundation.
Chris received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado at Boulder and currently sits on the International Advisory Board for the CU Real Estate Center. In 2012, Chris earned a Masters Degree in Real Estate Development from Auburn University where he now sits on the Advisory Council and serves (occasionally) as an Adjunct Professor. Chris also holds a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Clemson University.
